How to Compare Low Cost Health Insurance in Mississippi

People are dying to get low cost health insurance in Mississippi. With the cost of coverage well beyond the means of the average person (more than 50% of all Mississippi residents who have health coverage have reported that paying their monthly premium is a severe financial burden) it's no wonder everyone wants to know how they can save money on their health insurance.
Fortunately there are several specific things that most people can do that will reduce their cost.
Start by setting up an automatic system for paying your premium each month out of your bank account. If you have your premium paid automatically each month it saves your company the cost of billing and they pass that savings on to you.
Stop smoking. You've heard it a thousand times before, but this time you'll be paid - or more accurately you'll save money - if you stop. That goes for chew, too.
If you are overweight you will also never get the lowest cost for health coverage. Insurance companies based part of your premium on your Body Mass Index (BMI) which is simply a politically correct way of saying that people who are overweight pay more.
The good news is that oftentimes if you can lose even a few pounds you will slip down a notch on the insurance company's BMI scale, and if that happens the savings could add up to hundreds of dollars each and every year. In other words, every pound counts!
Don't take part in dangerous or extreme sports. Also, if you drive a fast sports car you also may be tagged for higher rates.
Stop eating fast food. Just stop. And stop eating fried foods. If you're serious about saving money on your health coverage then you're going to have to change some of your habits - and that includes cutting out almost all fast food and all fried foods.
Find a group plan that you can join. If they don't have a group plan at the place where you work then ask around at any clubs or organizations or groups that you belong to. You'd be amazed at the number of associations and clubs that offer their members low cost group health insurance.
Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Take vitamins. And get some exercise. Exercise doesn't have to be dull and boring. Join a group that walks the mall in the mornings. Bike to school with your kids. Walk around the block a few times each week. Just get out and get moving. You'll feel better and you'll need to see the doctor less often.
Pay the highest co-payment that you can comfortably afford. If you don't see your doctor on a regular basis then opt for a 50% co-pay and you should save enough money over the course of the year to come out ahead.
How much you pay as a deductible each year can be a big influence on how much your premium is each month. Obviously you should not promise to pay more than you can afford, but keep in mind that the higher your deductible the lower your monthly premium payment.
Buying your health insurance over the internet can save you a bundle. Don't get lazy, however, and just look at 1 of the sites that let you make head-to-head price comparisons. If you're really serious about finding the lowest cost health policy then you'll have to take the extra time to fill out the forms on at least 3 different sites.
Also be absolutely sure that you answer the questions on all three sites exactly the same way. This is the only way that you will actually be comparing the same policy on all 3 sites.
But once you've done all of that then your job is done. Just grab the lowest-cost policy you can find and rest easy knowing that you have done your job and compared low cost health insurance in Mississippi and that you have found the very best deal you could.
